Jam Session, 1975

This is the first song on the tape, and demonstrates the awesome, progressive 5-string banjo style of the late, great Ru Searson (RIP, buddy!). He was _so_ ahead of the “rest of us”… wild, crazy and amazing!
In the beginning of this tape, you can hear us talking (including our son, John), tuning up, etc. I think Ru is the “low” voice (saying “let me finish my coffee here”, etc). I sang solo on this one (yes that is me singing, LOL!). Su Gordon didn’t play fiddle on this one. She was just learning to play Bluegrass (but actually got us this gig!). Also, I think that is Les Browning playing some “Texas style” guitar backup. (?)

Old Cassette Tape Digitization
Using a funky old Panasonic tape player to digitize old home recordings and audio clips. High tech? Not! Plugged into PC, the using Audacity freeware to capture.
